Assessment of Complaint

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee met to consider a complaint made by Councillor Duncan that Councillor Anita MacDonald had contravened one or more provisions of the Members’ Code of Conduct which she had undertaken in writing to observe.

In relation to the complaint the Sub-Committee satisfied themselves that, proven the allegation against Councillor MacDonald would constitute a breach of the following paragraphs of the Code:

·        3[1), which imposes an obligation on a Member that they must treat others with respect,

·        3[2](b) which imposes an obligation on a Member not to bully any person and

·        5 which imposes an obligation on a Member that they must not conduct themselves in a manner which would reasonably be regarded as bringing their office or authority into disrepute,.

RESOLVED: That the allegation against Councillor MacDonald be referred to Hillingdon's Monitoring Officer for him to appoint a suitable external person to undertake an independent and impartial investigation into the allegation.

A full written summary of the decision is available to the public.
