Minutes:

The Councils Licensing Officer presented the report to the Sub-Committee.

Mr Philippe Basset spoke about the application for a Christmas/Continental Market which he had submitted to the Licensing Department in September 2011.

There were three letters of objection received by the London Borough of Hillingdon in relation to the application.

Mr John Cradduck and Mr Satnam Johal spoke against the application submitted before the Sub-Committee. Mr Mike Crane spoke in favour and stated he had no objections against the application.

The London Borough of Hillingdon, taking into account all relevant representations, granted the licence sought by Mr Philippe Bassett, but limited the dates upon which the market may operate on Thursday 17 November 2011 and Friday 18 November 2011. This is because the Sub-Committee considered that the two day period was sufficient to satisfy the needs of the area and the demand for those articles proposed to be offered for sale as part of the market. All the other elements of the application were granted as sought (i.e, location, times of trade etc).

Resolved:

The London Borough of Hillingdon, taking into account all relevant representations, granted the licence sought by Mr Philippe Bassett, but have limited the dates upon which the market may operate on Thursday 17 November 2011 and Friday 18 November 2011.
