Motions

To consider the following Motion submitted by Councillor Puddifoot in accordance with Council Procedure Rule 12:

 

‘That, under the provisions of Section 249(5) of the Local Government Act 1972, Natasha Louise Baker of Manor Farm, St Peters Road, Cowley, in the County of Middlesex, be granted Honorary Freedom of the London Borough of Hillingdon, being the highest distinction in the power of the Council to bestow, in recognition of the pride and honour her sporting achievements have brought to the people of Hillingdon and that Natasha be admitted to the Roll of Honorary Freemen of the Borough.’

 

Minutes:

The Leader of the Council moved a motion to grant the Freedom of the Borough to Natasha Louise Baker of Manor Farm, Cowley in recognition of her inspirational achievements at the 2012 Paralympic Games where she had won two gold medals in the Grade II equestrian dressage events. The Leader reminded Members that the Freedom was the highest distinction in the power of the Council to bestow  and was being awarded in recognition of the pride and honour Natasha’s sporting achievements had brought to the people of Hillingdon.

 

The motion was seconded by Councillor Curling and, after debate (Councillors Corthorne and Higgins) it was
