The purpose of this meeting is to decide whether to refer back any decision to the decision maker.

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the Cabinet reports of 15 November 2018 and the decisions made by Cabinet on them earlier that evening.

 

Reviewing the budget monitoring report, Members sought further clarifications regarding the Dedicated Schools Budget, in particular on the underspend in the Educational Psychology Service, funding by the Schools Forum for the Early Years Centres and the overspend on post-19 SEN provision.

 

Labour Members present wished for it to be minuted, their recommendation that the relevant Policy Overview Committee reviews the problems of the recruitment of Secondary School teachers, given that this could impact upon the Schools Budget going forward.

 

Members gave consideration to the pressures of the High Needs schools budget in light of recent related court challenges elsewhere and sought reassurances that such risks had been identified.

 

It was agreed to provide Members with a copy of the recent Policy Overview Committee update report into the TeleCareLine Service which had looked at its performance.

 

Considering a confidential report towards the end of the meeting, Members sought further information on the regime for boiler safety checks, maintenance and repair in the housing stock.

 

RESOLVED: – That the decisions made by the Cabinet at their meeting on 15 November 2018 be endorsed and that no call-in be made.
