Consideration of Executive Decisions Taken and any Call-Ins pdf icon PDF 106 KB

To undertake the statutory scrutiny role of executive decision-making by the London Borough of Hillingdon, and in particular to review decisions made by the Cabinet prior to this meeting. Members should consider any other decision taken by a Cabinet Member(s) or key decision taken by an Officer published in the five working days before this meeting.

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the Cabinet reports of the 23 January 2020 meeting and the decisions made by Cabinet on them earlier that evening.

Members discussed the timings associated with the GP Pressures review endorsed by Cabinet, where it was noted that a previous scrutiny review into the matter had been undertaken, but had also been superseded by the most recent review with more up-to-date information and witness evidence.

On the report relating to the Council’s updated equalities and stronger communities policies, the Committee sought clarification on what sort of co-ordinated approach the Council undertakes with schools on the matter. All Members welcomed the report which had been requested by full Council.

The Committee also welcomed the report on modern slavery, which had also been requested by Council.

On the budget monitoring report, Members noted the recent announcement of increased borrowing costs for debt sourced from HM Treasury’s Public Works Loan Board and that the report noted that this would affect the cost of future borrowing. The Committee sought more detail on the loans affected within Hillingdon.

RESOLVED: – That the decisions made by the Cabinet at their meeting on 23 January 2020 be endorsed and that no call-in be made.
