APPLICATION FOR A TEMPORARY STREET TRADING LICENCE - SHOP FRONT KWALITY FOODS, 670-674 Uxbridge Road, Hayes, UB4 0RY Additional documents: Minutes: DECISION:
The licence had been granted as applied for subject to the following additional condition:
The licensed area shall not be used for storage purposes.
The licence was valid for a period of 6 months. The Licence permits display of fruit and vegetables on the public highway immediately in front of the shop known as Kwality Foods, 670 – 674 Uxbridge Road, Hayes, Middlesex. The placement of the shop front display on the public highway must correspond to the map / layout plan submitted at the time of the application for a licence.
Additionally, the applicant was required to ensure that a minimum of two metres unoccupied space was retained on the public highway for pass and re-pass by pedestrians. The Committee’s stated reasons for their decision was as follows:
“The committee have taken into account the comments from the highways officer but consider that the footway in this case is wide at 5.2 metres and with a 3 metre pitch depth, there would still be a 2.25 metre depth of footway for the passage of pedestrians. The committee note that the available space for pedestrians in this case would exceed the 2 metre minimum required by the Council’s standard licence conditions. Each application must be judged on its own merits but in this case the committee see no reason to impose stricter controls on footway width for pedestrians. The committee also note that the pitch has operated at a 3 metre depth since 2008 and have taken this into account in reaching their decision.” |
