THE BARN HOTEL, WEST END ROAD, RUISLIP

We the undersigned petition Hillingdon Council to Reject the current plans submitted for the development of the Barn Hotel Ref: 7969/APP/2024/2451 on the grounds that this proposal is inflicting a detrimental loss of privacy to the existing residents surrounding the site, including a security infringement, there are serious highway safety and traffic issues, the design is out of character with the existing listed buildings on the site which are a historical part of the community, the new buildings will have a catastrophic impact on sunlight to the neighbours of the development and the layout and the density of the proposed buildings have not considered the sites surroundings.

This petition is mainly on behalf of the residents of Eversley Crescent and Willow Grove who will be directly affected by the outlined issues. What we would appreciate is a re-design that takes into consideration the quality of living we have worked hard to achieve. Put any blocks of flats/balconies on the West End Road side of the development where there are no neighbours to be overlooked, which will avoid breaching our security, privacy and sunlight. Put the green open space on the Eversley Crescent/Willow Grove side of the development to keep some space between the site and the current properties to avoid the density of property, cars and noise pollution. A nicer external design of the buildings, to be in keeping with the listed buildings, so to not have such an eye sore in such a central place in the area, that is not in keeping with the neighbouring buildings. Ensure Eversley Crescent and Willow Grove will not be used as an entrance during the build or thereafter. The road is a dead end and will become dangerous and unsafe if it is used as an access point.

On reaching 20 signatures it may be considered in conjunction with the relevant live planning application at an upcoming Committee meeting. The Council's Democratic Services Team will be in touch with the lead petitioner to advise and take this petition forward accordingly.
