Petition against planning of 7 storey flat development on Cross Road Uxbridge. (62106/APP/2020/3031)

We the undersigned petition Hillingdon Council to decline the proposed development in planning application (ref: 62106/APP/2020/3031) and consider limitations on any further development of this site.

We, the Residents of Lawn, Cross, & Victoria Road and immediate areas surrounding these, strongly oppose the proposed demolition and development of an existing listed single-storey dwelling (formerly Tara Kindergaten) within the local conservation area, and are petitioning to stop planning from being granted for the development of a seven-storey flat block on the existing foot print.

This development will cause nothing but issues to the surrounding houses and flats and immediate area around them. The only access to the proposed site is a single track road which is not suitable for heavy goods vehicles, and in constant use.

While the site could be accessed from the A4020, it would cause traffic issues on an already heavily congested through-road which gets especially busy during peak hours and blocks access to a highly-used bus stop servicing the local town and surrounding areas.

The development proposed is seven-storeys and the current highest development in the area is three-storeys (excluding the multi-storey car park across the A4020).

As well as access issues, the proposed development would cause noise issues to local wildlife and privacy to all the current properties, gardens and local parks would be highly overshadowed. Parking is already an existing issue in the street and surrounding areas, and while the developers must provide parking, it will be difficult for them to do so and difficult for site workers to park without causing issues to residents.

On reaching 20 signatures it may be considered in conjunction with the relevant live planning application at an upcoming Committee meeting. The Council's Democratic Services Team will be in touch with the lead petitioner to advise and take this petition forward accordingly.
