The park would merely need to consist of:
- monkey bars
- horizontal bars at various heights
- dip bars
- a strong rope to climb
- a high bar to attach gymnastic ropes to.
There are a few places perfect for this such as Barrahall Park as
well as Lake Farm Country Park
Hayes doesn’t have a sufficient outdoor exercise park within radius where there are bars. Bar parks are inexpensive and very functional for the youth and older community to practice and develop strength and fitness levels.
This park would support the community and encourage an interest
in body weight training which is free for low income individuals
who cannot afford a gym membership.
It also gets young people involved in a gymnastic style training at
a young age reducing the risks of stiffness and arthritis in the
future.
Not only is there health benefits, such activities will reduce crime in the area. I’ve grown up in hayes most of my life so I am aware of the situation in Hayes and I strongly believe that this would have a positive impact on the youth.
