Agenda and minutes

It was noted that Cllr Jagjit Singh was in attendance for the meeting on 21 February 2017, but not stated as present on the minutes. Further to this, it was;

RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meetings on 21 February and 19 July 2017 were agreed as a correct record.

The Advisor to HSACRE confirmed that he had received the Agreed Syllabus Conference from Communications, and that, subject to minor changes and additions, the production of the syllabus had entered its final stages.

The Humanist representative confirmed that he was happy with the logo used, and it was confirmed that the syllabus would be the 2017 version if it was confirmed by the end of the year.

Members of HSACRE were asked to look at the document and respond to the Clerk or Advisor to HSACRE with any comments or corrections that they believed were necessary to the syllabus. It was proposed that any necessary changes could then be made to the document, with authority delegated to the Advisor to HSACRE and Chairman to confirm the changes, and upon finalising the syllabus, it would then be sent to the Cabinet Member for Education and Children's Services for approval.

The recommendation was moved and seconded. Upon being put to a vote, it was agreed with 15 votes in favour, and one abstention.

HSACRE also noted that the launch of the Agreed Syllabus would take place in the future, and it was agreed that a Sub-Committee be created to discuss ways that the syllabus could be launched. Any Committee member who wished to be involved in the Sub-Committee was asked to contact the Clerk or Advisor to HSACRE to confirm their interest.

RESOLVED: That,

1.    The update on the Hillingdon Agreed Syllabus Review was noted;

2.    Authority was delegated to the Chairman of HSACRE and Advisor to HSACRE to make any minor changes to the Hillingdon Agreed Syllabus as necessary, and agree the final version of the HSACRE Agreed Syllabus on behalf of HSACRE;

3.    The final version of the HSACRE Agreed Syllabus be sent to the Cabinet Member for Education and Children's Services for approval;

4.    A Sub-Committee of HSACRE be established to discuss the launch of the syllabus, and any Members interested in serving on the Sub-Committee were invited to contact the Clerk or Advisor of HSACRE to confirm their interest.
