Minutes: Introduction by Regulatory Services
Ian Meens, Licensing Officer, introduced the report and explained that the review brought before the Sub-Committee was pursuant to S167 of the Licensing Act 2003 (the Act) in relation to Central News, 63 Coldharbour Lane, Hayes, Middlesex, UB3 3EE. This was due to a Closure Order obtained by the Metropolitan Police Service on Friday 24 April 2015.
Following the closure order the Council had 10 working days for a hearing to take place for the Sub-Committee to determine.
It was confirmed that all interested parties had been notified of the meeting and notices had also been displayed at the premises and published on the Council website.
It was Resolved: That:
The meeting moved to Part II and the members of the public present were asked to leave the room.
THE DECISION
The Sub-Committee had considered all the relevant evidence made available to it and in doing so has taken into account the Licensing Act 2003, the Guidance issued by the Secretary of State under Section 182 of the Act, the Council’s Statement of Licensing Policy and Licensing objectives. The Sub-Committee had carefully considered its decision the demands of the legislation.
The unanimous decision of the Sub-Committee was to revoke the licence. |
