Minutes: Introduction by Licensing Officer:
Steven Dormer, Licensing Officer at London Borough of Hillingdon, introduced the report, photographs and addendum relating to a variation application for a gaming machine permit in respect of The Good Yarn, 132 High Street, Uxbridge. The application requested an increase of machine usage from the existing five machines to six machines.
The Committee was informed that the proposed sixth machine was to be positioned to the right of the bar, in clear view of bar staff. The Committee was informed that the application was in accordance with all procedures set out in the Gambling Act 2005, and did not require consultation with responsible authorities or any advertising/legal notice.

Discussion
Members requested confirmation of the prize limit of the proposed machine. Officers confirmed that the limit was set at £100.00.
Members noted that no evidence of antisocial behaviour or crime and disorder relating to the gambling machines at the premises had been submitted.
Members noted the proposed position of the machine, and the policy and procedure document submitted by JD Wetherspoon that detailed how the machines on site were managed.

All parties were asked to leave the room while the Sub-Committee considered its decision.
All parties were invited back into the room for the Chairman to announce the decision of the Sub-Committee.
The Decision
The Sub-Committee considered all the relevant evidence made available to it and in doing so took into account the Council's Gambling Act 2005 Policy and the Gambling Commission Guidance on Gaming Machines.
The decision of the Sub-Committee was to grant the licence.
The Sub-Committee noted that the layoutof the machines must correspond to the map / layout plan submitted at the time of the application for a licence. The Applicant was urged to submit an updated map/layout plan in order to prevent any potential enforcement action.
