Permit parking - Lowlands Road

We the undersigned petition Hillingdon Council to extend the permit parking along the whole of Lowlands Road.

Since the introduction to permit parking in a small section of the road, the parked traffic in the rest of the road has increased considerably. The permit controlled parking has not helped reduce the number of cars parking in Lowlands Road, it has just pushed them further down the road. The parking is now unsafe for residents as crossing the road has become even more of a challenge now that we have to cross between multiple parked cars. Cars are parking with their front or back ends over people's driveways. The residents are having to park down the other end of the road rather than outside their own homes due to shop keepers and train users parking their cars on the road from as early as 6.30am until 7-7.30pm. In addition to these cars, there are the cars that have been dumped along the road. As there are no restrictions it has meant businesses feel they can park their commercial work vans along the road so as not to pay carpark or storage charges for their vehicles.

The permit controlled area needs to extend the length of the road with the same permit time ranges or a set time between 11-12 and 2-3 so that cars cannot park there all day.

To further increase the parking needs in Lowlands Road, as there are so many cars parked along the road, the learners are using the spaces to parallel park which adds even more stress to the parking situation.

I feel like the problem has been pushed down the road and the problem of parking has never been resolved for many of the residents living in the street.

On reaching 20 signatures it will be formally considered by the Council and relevant Cabinet Member. Local ward Councillors will also be made aware of the petition. The Council's Democratic Services Team will keep the lead petitioner updated on progress.
