55 DEANE CROFT ROAD Proposal for erection of a part single storey, part two storey side and rear extension, and a front porch Planning Ref:4973/APP/2025/1706

We the undersigned petition Hillingdon Council to REFUSE 55 DEANE CROFT ROAD EASTCOTE PINNER (Planning Ref:4973/APP/2025/1706) Proposal for Erection of a part single-storey, part two-storey side and rear extension, and a front porch. Please support our petition for London Borough of Hillingdon to refuse this application above for the following reasons: The proposals do not comply with Policy DMHD 1: • The single storey rear element is 6m in depth more than 3.6m • The two storey side extension is not set in a minimum of 1 metre from the side boundary. • The two storey side extension is not set back a minimum of 1 metre behind the main front elevation. • The proposals will have an adverse cumulative impact on the character and appearance of the street scene, and will not appear subordinate to the main dwelling.

Negative impact upon neighbouring occupiers:
• The first floor rear element will have detrimental impacts to neighbours at no.57 causing loss of light into the side staircase window, rear bathroom window, kitchen sky lights (x3) and kitchen rear bifold doors and overlooking onto private patio area
• The first floor rear element will cause detrimental impacts to neighbours at no.53 overlooking private patio area
• The single storey rear element will cause detrimental impact to neighbours at no.53 restricting light into rear living room and patio area.

Overall the proposals will be detrimental to nearby occupiers in terms of overdominance, outlook, sense of enclosure, visual intrusion, overlooking, loss of privacy, overbearing impact and loss of daylight/sunlight. There is also severe surface flooding water in this road which will be made worse with this build.
• There are no similar examples of two storey side extensions in the Deane Croft Road / The Chase area. It would create a terracing effect that would be detrimental to the character, appearance and symmetry of the pair of semi-detached houses of which it forms a part, would be detrimental to the character, appearance and visual amenities of the street scene
• The combined part single; part two storey rear would be excessive in its size and would result in the rearward projection being wholly dominant, bulky, boxy and incongruous to the architectural composition of the original dwelling
• There is the danger of setting a precedent if these proposals are allowed.

On reaching 20 signatures it may be considered in conjunction with the relevant live planning application at an upcoming Committee meeting. The Council's Democratic Services Team will be in touch with the lead petitioner to advise and take this petition forward accordingly.
