Grays Road Development Petition, app. 585/APP/2026/580

We the undersigned petition Hillingdon Council to refuse or substantially revise the proposed development at Grays Road/ Hillingdon Road (Ref: 585/APP/2026/580) due to concerns regarding overdevelopment, infrastructure strain, traffic impact, and lack of clarity on housing mix, and to ensure robust safeguards are in place to guarantee timely completion and accountability of the project.

Residents have significant concerns regarding the scale and impact of the proposed 333-dwelling development.

The size and density of the proposal risk placing excessive strain on already stretched local infrastructure, including GP services, schools, road networks, and public transport.

There is also insufficient clarity regarding the housing mix, and residents request transparency to ensure a balanced and policy-aligned distribution of affordable and private housing that reflects genuine local needs.

Increased traffic and parking demand is another major concern, with the potential to worsen congestion and negatively affect road safety in the surrounding area.

Furthermore, there is a local precedent of an unfinished and long-term derelict development on Churchill Road, which has had a detrimental impact on the community. Residents are therefore seeking clear assurances, enforceable timelines, and safeguards to ensure this proposed development is completed in full and does not result in a similar situation.

Should the application be considered for approval, residents request that strong Section 106 and/or Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) contributions are secured to mitigate the impact on local services and infrastructure.

Overall, residents believe the current proposal requires significant revision to ensure it is sustainable, proportionate, and aligned with the needs of the local community.
