Stop major development in UB7

We the undersigned petition Hillingdon Council to stop approving major developments within the Yiewsley and West Drayton wards.

There are currently over 20 major developments (including current approvals) within a short distance between Yiewsley & West Drayton:

300+ units around West Drayton Railway Station; 66 units by Tesco Express Station Road; 100+ units around Swan/Station Road; 61 units in Warwick Road; these are risks due to poor road layouts, location and lack of off street parking. Excluding conversions of dwellings into flats, there have been 2000+ units added in these two wards in around five years.

The road layout has proved it can't cater for current traffic levels as there is constant congestion leading to more pollution, more so being around major bus routes, and catering for high levels of pedestrian traffic due to the public transport connections. Also, no changes to the medical and policing facilities has led to longer waiting times for appointments and a major increase in various crimes especially ASB.

Many residents air their disapproval and comment on such via the planning applications, however, there is a lack of engagement from the Council and lack of feedback as to why these applications are approved with what seems a lack of risk assessments, much to the detriment of the health, safety and well being of residents. Many residents are losing hope of having their concerns heard. The Council now needs to stand up to it's motto of "putting residents first" and take their concerns into account.

On reaching 20 signatures it will be formally considered by the Council and relevant Cabinet Member. Local ward Councillors will also be made aware of the petition. The Council's Democratic Services Team will keep the lead petitioner updated on progress.
