Barriers to stop motorcyclists driving down the Fore St to Elmbridge Drive walkway

We the undersigned petition Hillingdon Council to install barriers on both ends of the walkway. The barriers should allow prams, pushchairs & cyclists to pass through, but should block motorcycles. An example: http://www.kbarriers.co.uk/a-frame-barrier/

This walkway which runs next to my home (20 Elmbridge Drive) has three schools immediately on the Fore Street side. Parents often park on and around Elmbridge Drive to then walk down the walkway with their children to school. I would imagine the total number of children comes to around 600 for all three schools (two nurseries & one infant).

On numerous occasions I have witnessed motorcyclists driving down this walkway at full power, zigzaging around very young children, only missing them by a few centimeters.

Often they have no number plates & wear masks to cover their faces. They do not seem to have an concern for the parents and children that use this walkway on a daily basis.

We need to do something to protect our children.

On reaching 20 signatures it will be formally considered by the Council and relevant Cabinet Member. Local ward Councillors will also be made aware of the petition. The Council's Democratic Services Team will keep the lead petitioner updated on progress.
