Road Safety & Parking Hours Reinforcement, Egerton Way

We the undersigned petition Hillingdon Council to revise parking hours of operation to residents permit only at all times, as this (Egerton Way, UB3 5AY) is a rest zone for many Uber/taxi/commercial vehicles. A neighbouring road (Bolton’s Lane) has resident permit at all times and the parking lane is broken into parking bays. It is unfair that not all local buildings/roads are given the same care. Taxi drivers don’t wait there & this congests Egerton Way. This petition requests the Council: 1. Print / split parking lane with bays so each car can park in its lane within its parking bay (problems with people parking incorrectly wasting space). 2. Revise and change parking hours of operation on Egerton Way. 3. Print double yellow at top of Egerton Way clearer, and perhaps either cut the bushes (plants) or print double red lines, as this is a severe blind spot and is unnoticed by road maintenance authorities.

Myself & residents have faced lots of problems parking outside on the street and in surrounding streets. As this area is close to Heathrow Airport it is very congested with private hire/taxi cars. These cars use local side streets as rest zones and areas where they await jobs. There is also a shisha bar which gets really busy and nobody uses their car park as the car park fee is £10, so they park in resident side street (Egerton Way). We have a residents permit but it’s absolutely pointless even having one as we don’t find spaces on our street. Shisha bar closes at 3am so at the weekend it’s a nightmare trying to find car parking space.

On reaching 20 signatures it will be formally considered by the Council and relevant Cabinet Member. Local ward Councillors will also be made aware of the petition. The Council's Democratic Services Team will keep the lead petitioner updated on progress.
