Pedestrian Crossing on Moorhall Road, Harefield

We the undersigned petition Hillingdon Council to Consider placing a pedestrian crossing between on Moorhall Road @ Dellside, Harefield, UB9

For users from Dellside & Hillside and others to be able to safely cross the road to be able to access the park and children's playground. This would be of benefit for families, elderly people using the park & dog walkers etc. This would also benefit residents on the other side of the road accessing the London loop and Denham Country Park.

Since HS2 there have been an increase in very large lorries that go through here now - I've been advised by the council this is not an approved HS2 route - however I can say there are many lorries using this route with a laminated placard in their cab stating HS2 and there was never this volume of lorries using this route prior to the start of HS2 works. There are ANPR cameras at this location and Moorhall road @ Harvil Road so I'm unsure whether HS2 can provide any information on this or not.

This route also becomes very busy when the M25 is congested as people use it as a cut through.

Another factor is that many people exceed the speed limit (no proof however they do not appear to be travelling at 30 mph).

This would provide a safer means for residents on both sides to cross this busy road.

On reaching 20 signatures it will be formally considered by the Council and relevant Cabinet Member. Local ward Councillors will also be made aware of the petition. The Council's Democratic Services Team will keep the lead petitioner updated on progress.
