Objection to 13 Clammas Way planning proposal 43721/APP/2026/871

We the undersigned petition Hillingdon Council to support this objection and reject the planning application.

Grounds for Objection:

1. Impact on Neighbourhood Character and Cohesion
Our street is predominantly composed of single-family homes occupied by long-term OWNER residents. Converting this property into multiple rental units risks altering the character of the area and reducing the sense of community stability that comes from owner-occupied housing.

2. Concerns Regarding Property Upkeep and Oversight
Owner-occupied homes typically benefit from a higher level of day-to-day care and accountability. The subdivision into rental flats leads to reduced oversight, particularly if managed remotely by landlords, which negatively affects property maintenance and the overall appearance of the street, as is the case with the completed flats at No.14 & No.29 that are also being rented out.

This concern is further demonstrated by the flats at the top of Clammas Way, which form part of the High Street. The condition of the pavement where the refuse collection point is located on Clammas Way near the bookmakers has been significantly degraded. The area frequently appears stained with residual waste and would benefit from regular deep cleaning, creating a visual standard that is inconsistent with the otherwise very well-maintained, resident-owned character of Clammas Way.

3. Increased Pressure on Local Infrastructure
The creation of two separate households in place of one leads to increased pressure on already limited parking, waste collection services, and local amenities, to the detriment of existing residents.

Conclusion:

For the reasons outlined above, we respectfully request that Hillingdon Council / Planning Authority refuse permission for the proposed conversion and instead support the retention of this property as a single-family resident owned home.

On reaching 20 signatures it may be considered in conjunction with the relevant live planning application at an upcoming Committee meeting. The Council's Democratic Services Team will be in touch with the lead petitioner to advise and take this petition forward accordingly.
