Proposal to create parking bays at Warren Drive HA49RD

We the undersigned petition Hillingdon Council to Please can we have marked bays created or at least double yellow lines extended into Warren Drive so that people can park only outside of the single/ double yellow lines on the road.

We at Warren Drive HA4 9RD are increasingly facing parking chaos on our streets. The problem has increased since the recent implementation of parking restrictions on Windermere Avenue last summer. We now have cars parked from Windermere streets overnight and those that commute to the City of London via the Metropolitan line. There are cars left on our street for days together and poorly parked with very little room for an SUV to even pass through. This isn't illegal as there are no markings and legally OK and hence so far we relied on common sense of people to park on one side of the road so that ambulances and other emergency vehicles can pass through.

There are always blockages of some sort around the houses ranging 1-10 and the side 26-47 along with the entry and exit points of the street (Woodlands Avenue) where free parking is allowed except for lorries or large vans. I am also aware of carer nurses treating cancer patients visiting regularly around the houses 1-6 and not ideal.

During the night when a neighbour had a cardiac arrest in August of 2023, the ambulance had to come via the other side due to blockages. There are many senior citizens living on our street who may need help at some point and concerned as every second delay counts when it comes to saving lives. I have done a survey over whatsappp group and there is overwhelming response from residents to have something done about the problem.

On reaching 20 signatures it will be formally considered by the Council and relevant Cabinet Member. Local ward Councillors will also be made aware of the petition. The Council's Democratic Services Team will keep the lead petitioner updated on progress.
