Bring Lime Bikes to Hillingdon: Support Sustainable Transport in Our Borough!

We the undersigned petition Hillingdon Council to partner with Lime to bring their bike-sharing service to Hillingdon, offering a cleaner, faster, and more affordable way for residents - especially students and families - to travel around the borough. Introducing Lime bikes would provide local children and teenagers a convenient and safe way to get to school without needing a car, which would help reduce traffic and congestion around school zones. Fewer cars on the road during peak times would not only ease the strain on our streets but also decrease pollution, creating a healthier environment for everyone. This service would offer a practical, eco-friendly option for families, giving young people greater independence while promoting physical activity. Beyond school commutes, Lime bikes would connect residents more efficiently to public transport, local shops, and parks, all while helping Hillingdon meet its goals to lower carbon emissions and reduce traffic.

We the undersigned petition the council to partner with Lime to bring their bike-sharing service to Hillingdon, offering a cleaner, faster, and more affordable way for residents - especially students and families - to travel around the borough. As Hillingdon continues to grow, the challenges of traffic congestion, pollution, and limited transportation options become increasingly apparent. Introducing Lime bikes would provide a solution to these issues and contribute positively to our community’s overall quality of life. By promoting bike use over car travel, we can reduce carbon emissions and improve air quality, essential for the health of our residents. Reducing the number of cars during peak school hours can lead to safer streets, especially in school zones where children are at risk from heavy traffic. Lime bikes would empower students to travel independently, promoting healthy lifestyles and reducing reliance on parents for rides. Additionally, a bike-sharing program can help increase foot traffic to local businesses and strengthen community bonds. This initiative aligns with Hillingdon Council’s goals to promote sustainable development and improve public transportation options. By signing this petition, residents can show their support for environmentally friendly transport solutions that benefit individuals, families, and the community as a whole. Together, we can pave the way for a greener Hillingdon!

On reaching 100 signatures it will be formally considered by the Council and relevant Cabinet Member. Democratic Services Team will keep the lead petitioner updated on progress.
