Hillingdon Council to install speed bumps along the length of Moorfield Road, Uxbridge.

We the undersigned petition Hillingdon Council to install speed bumps along the length of Moorefield Road to address the dangerous issue of speeding and ensure the safety of all road users, particularly children, pedestrians, and cyclists.

Why action is needed:

1. Excessive Speeding:
Many drivers regularly exceed safe speed limits along Moorfield Road, creating a significant hazard for residents and pedestrians.

2. Risk to Pedestrians and Cyclists:
With families, children, and cyclists using this road daily, the high speeds pose a serious risk of accidents or fatalities.

3. Residential Safety:
Moorfield Road is a residential area, and the current driving behavior compromises the safety and peace of the community.

4. Proven Effectiveness of Speed Bumps:
Speed bumps are a simple and cost-effective measure that has been shown to slow down traffic and reduce accidents in similar areas.

By installing speed bumps, the Council will make Moorfield Road safer for everyone and help prevent potential accidents.

We urge Hillingdon Council to prioritise the safety of the community by approving and implementing this measure without delay.

On reaching 20 signatures it will be formally considered by the Council and relevant Cabinet Member. Local ward Councillors will also be made aware of the petition. The Council's Democratic Services Team will keep the lead petitioner updated on progress.

This ePetition runs from 27/01/2025 to 27/02/2025.
