STOP RECYCLING COLLECTIONS BEFORE 07:00

We the undersigned petition Hillingdon Council to ensure that household recycling collections are not done before 07:00 as currently experienced across the Borough.

Recycling collection should not be conducted before 7am. Currently recycling collections are being conducted between 04.00 and 07.00 hrs.

This is causing many local residents unnecessar sleep disturbances. One survey revealed nearly one third of households were frequently affected with residents being woken up.

It should be noted that the law prevents businesses from making more than 38 decibels of noise before 07.00 hrs. Machines/ type of vehicles used in the recycling collection exceed this limit.

Given that we, the local residents, pay Council Tax which funds the recycling collection within the Borough, we expect our Council (and its subcontractors) to manage this service properly according to the law and take on board taxpayer's concerns to ensure such recycling collections are rescheduled after 07:00.

On reaching 100 signatures it will be formally considered by the Council and relevant Cabinet Member. Democratic Services Team will keep the lead petitioner updated on progress.

This ePetition runs from 02/04/2025 to 02/05/2025.
