Assurances Hillingdon House restaurant won't be an entertainment venue

We the undersigned petition Hillingdon Council to Consult with residents local to Hillingdon House and provide assurances that Hillingdon House (in St Andrews Park development) will ONLY be used as (offices and) a restaurant and NOT as an entertainment venue. Also, the residents would like assurances the Council will put in place appropriate controls on the restaurant to ensure impact is minimised; such as no loud music/DJ, limited alcohol license, and limited opening hours.

Local residents were not originally given an opportunity to object to the use of Hillingdon House as a restaurant. Most residents were only aware of Hillingdon House being used as offices. In particular, new build houses within ten metres of the restaurant should have been consulted with prior to permission being granted. Now that it is in development, we'd hope the Council will protect the rights and uphold our concerns, by providing assurances that noise, smell, parking and traffic impact will be minimised with the appropriate controls. We understand that the development owner has similar food & entertainment venues, and residences close to those have constantly suffered parking issues, increased crime and noise - such as residents close to Tamara Lounge.

In addition, there have been recent planning applications to add an exhaust vent and LPG gas storage to Hillingdon House. Local residents only received letters few days before comments deadline, and therefore residents were again not given a fair say. The LPG gas storage is not needed for offices & restaurant, and is dangerous to be stored so close to property borders. The noise and smell impact of the restaurant vent was not detailed in the planning application by the development, and residents would like further information on this aspect.

On reaching 20 signatures it will be formally considered by the Council and relevant Cabinet Member. Local ward Councillors will also be made aware of the petition. The Council's Democratic Services Team will keep the lead petitioner updated on progress.
