Kingsend & B466 Ruislip Vehicle Speed, Noise & Traffic Issues

We the undersigned petition Hillingdon Council to seek changes to road layout and speed systems to reflect the high levels of usage as well as noise and pollution issues. We seek appropriate plans to improve traffic flow whilst giving consideration to safety, noise and pollution which have increased and will continue to increase with HS2 and planned school developments locally.

The ultimate purpose is to address the following issues and seek sensible solutions, including a rethink of the junction close to the B466 Junction which is high risk due to the multiple junctions that spur on to this point.

Points in relation to Kingsend:
a) Excessive speed of all types of vehicles from motorbikes to HGVs.
b) High noise levels which accompanies this speeding during the day and at unsociable hours.
c) Danger associated with above for our elderly/disabled/vulnerable and indeed all residents in terms of being hit by vehicles on pavement or in the road.
d) Distress to some residents and their carers who cannot sleep due to the noise - a stress exacerbated in the summer and warm periods owing to the need to open windows.
e) pollution and filth associated with said vehicles.

Points in relation to the B466 Junctions with Ickenham Road, Kingsend, Wood Lane:
a) Due to the inconsistent layout and high traffic flows the roundabout is often blocked.
b) With the high possibility of increased works from the HS2 site and the proposed school at the West Ruislip Golf club, site construction traffic and vehicular flow at peak times will increase, along with standing traffic, increasing noise levels, pollution and delays.

Solutions need to be sought in relation to these issues.

On reaching 20 signatures it will be formally considered by the Council and relevant Cabinet Member. Local ward Councillors will also be made aware of the petition. The Council's Democratic Services Team will keep the lead petitioner updated on progress.
